BOSNIA and Herzegovina confirmed 262 new cases of the coronavirus on Thursday, health authorities said, with the situation deteriorating in Sarajevo, which remains the biggest hotspot.

In the past 24 hours 919 samples have been tested in the Federation entity, with 128 cases proving positive, and three people have died in that entity.

Of the 488 samples tested in the Republika Srpska entity, 118 cases have proved positive. Two elderly men have died in that entity.

There are just over 1,300 active cases in the country.

Due to the spread of the disease, all major events in Sarajevo have been cancelled.
