A TOTAL of 240 new cases of infection with COVID-19 have been confirmed in Bosnia and Herzegovina and 8 people have died in the last 24 hours.

In the Federation entity 1,271 tests have been conducted since Monday and 169 have returned positive. Seven new fatalities caused by the coronavirus have been confirmed in that entity.

In the Republika Srpska entity, 71 new cases of infection have been confirmed after 422 tests were conducted and one more patient has died.

The largest number of new infections, 49, and three of the latest fatalities were reported in Sarajevo Canton.The latest figures show a mild decline in the daily number of new infections in the country which in recent weeks has been among the countries with the highest number of new infections.
