GERMAN RTL posted videos of parties on Zrce on the island of Pag, stating that tourists that came to the famous Croatian destination "don't give two hoots about social distancing."

"There are long queues in front of the clubs, hundreds of party people on the narrow dance floor, packed party-boats remind of the pre-pandemic times, but that's the current reality in Croatia," German RTL stated. They also reminded of the videos posted in the last couple of days of wild tourists in France, Spain, and Bulgaria who don't respect the epidemiological measures at all, and now "the Croatian Zrce joins them."

"Clubs are packed"

"Keeping the safe distance, wearing masks, and maintaining hygiene are history here, although the number of coronavirus cases is growing in Croatia. Is the new COVID-19 hotspot being developed? German RTL asked.

RTL quoted some of its viewers who are currently vacationing in Croatia. "What's happening here right now isn't normal. Clubs are packed, there are as many as two thousand people in there," said one of the German tourists.

RTL journalist: No one wears masks

A published video of partying confirms these claims.

RTL journalist Madeline Zilch said that her impression is that no one respects the recommendations about wearing masks in Novalja. "In all restaurants and bars that I've been to so far, waiters wore masks below the chin or didn't wear them at all," she said.

Grlic Radman: People behave like people

Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic Radman was asked to comment on the situation; he said that "people behave like people" and added that these things "cannot always be prevented." Grlic Radman said that inspection went to 250 nightclubs, and 68 of them got a warning due to infringement of rules.

Croatian Foreign Minister assures RTL that "the measures are strict and that everyone has to adhere to them." "I am asking German tourists again to choose Croatia for their summer destination," said Grlic Radman.

Index sent an inquiry to the mayor of Novalja Ante Dabo regarding this situation, and we will publish the answer once we receive it.
